SME Energy Audit

The energy audit is focused on identifying opportunities to reduce the cost and use of energy within a business. Focused on practical steps for reducing energy and suggesting improvements based specifically on that business.

Tailored support for SME's with less than 50 employees.

There are 2 paths available to an SME in Ireland to get support for an energy assessment. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Irelands SME Energy Audit Scheme or the Local Enterprise Office Green for Business Scheme. Both of these options will fund an energy assessment of the business.

Do I Qualify?

If you spend over €10,000 per year on utilities (excluding transport) then you qualify for the SEAI SME Energy Audit Scheme.

If you spend less than €10,000 per year you qualify for the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Green for Business scheme.

Both schemes will fund an energy audit of your business.

How do I start?

Contact us on 021 6010021 and we will walk you through the steps required for either the SEAI or the LEO schemes.

What is Involved?

We start with understanding your business, its current challenges and where you want to get to on your energy journey. There are two main parts to the assessment. An on site survey to walk through the building and the equipment. This helps us to form an understanding of your business and how it operates.

Next the desktop analysis will look at your historic energy use and identify trends and patterns. We also look for key energy drivers (equipment or practices) that might represent singular high energy use.

The report and recommendations stage will present the findings and list of recommendations for how to make improvements. Once you have this report it will point the way to accessing grants for building and equipment upgrades to achieve your energy objective.

Grants Available

There are substantial grants available from the SEAI and from the Local Enterprise Office to help businesses reduce their energy demand and increase profits.

The SEAI have grants for building fabric and solar panels to reduce energy demand.

The Local Enterprise Office Business Efficiency Grants will support modern high efficiency equipment up to €10,000 or 50% of the cost of the upgrade. This is a significant contribution towards the cost of most upgrades.
